We are so sad to hear the news that Carolyn Brodie has passed away. Over the last couple of years, she battled hard against her illness and had been positive at every turn. After a long spell in Treliske, she had been home for a couple of weeks, deteriorated and went back to the hospital over her last few days. Her son Stuart was with her when she died.
Carolyn was a life member of HRGC having joined well over 20 years ago. She was a stalwart member of The Leisurely Ladies crew formed in 2002, rowing with them in the Trafalgar re-enactment on the Thames in 2005 and was also part of the crew participating in The Great River Race that same year. She was also a member of the crew taking part in the Jubilee Pageant on the Thames in 2012. Carolyn was a hugely supportive and enthusiastic member of the club and will be sorely missed.
Carolyn's funeral will be held on Thursday 10th November at Mawnan Church followed by the wake at Trebah Gardens. Carolyn was also a very active member of Mawnan WI and up until last year was Vice President.
Wishing comfort to family and friends during this difficult time, and with deepest sympathies from all at Helford River Gig Club.
